Independent's Day 2nd May 2019

Make Local Council Election Day 2019 on 2nd May

INDEPENDENT'S DAY

VOTE  INDEPENDENT

Independents for Central Beds

SAY "NO" TO PARTY POLITICS IN LOCAL GOVERNMENT

Reasons to vote for your Independent Candidate:

  • Independent Candidates invariably live and/or work in the ward they wish to represent
  • Independent Candidates invariably have no party political baggage.
  • Independent Candidates consult you on major issues affecting your community.
  • Independent Candidates will listen to you and act in your interests - not tell you what's good for you. That's proper representation.
  • If elected as Independent councillors on Central Beds Council, issues will be considered on their own merits and resulting votes will not be determined by party allegiance

DEMOCRACY OR ONE-PARTY RULE? THE CHOICE IS SIMPLE. THE CHOICE IS YOURS!

At present, the political breakdown on Central Beds Council is:

  • 52 Conservatives
  • 4 Independents
  • 2 Labour
  • 1 Liberal Democrat

Do you agree with the council being so one-sided, with most councillors being told how to vote, or are you in favour of councillors being free minded and looking at each matter on its own merits?

The choice is yours: one-party rule, or a more balanced council open to debate and alternative points of view?

Things can change only if the Opposition is more numerous and stronger. Voting for Independent Candidates will help make Central Beds Council more democratic.
